Our relentless pursuit of perfection revealed the key ingredients for Unrivalled Mastery; exceptional quality, passion and precision.

No.3 Gin was created by Berry Bros. & Rudd, London’s oldest wine and spirt merchant, based at No.3 St James’s Street since 1698. In 2008 Berry Bros. & Rudd set out the ultimate challenge: to create the perfect London Dry Gin and set a new benchmark for quality.

It took two years; working with the ultimate masters in gin to refine the perfect recipe, including Dr. David Clutton - the only person in the world to have a PhD in gin.

The result was a perfect balance of juniper, citrus and spice made possible by craftsmanship, passion and precision.

 

No.3 is the perfect balance of three key flavours: Juniper, Citrus and Spice. Making for the most refreshing gin and tonic, clean, crisp martini or distinctive negroni.

It took us two years to create our masterpiece, working with master distillers, top mixologists and Dr. David Clutton - the only person in the world to have a PhD in gin.

We spent months selecting the very best botanicals to create a truly classic London Dry Gin.

To meet our exacting standards, we distill our spirit and botanicals in a unique 100-year-old, brick-encased copper pot still in Holland - the home of gin. With the best ingredients, the know-how of the world’s leading gin experts and perseverance, we created No.3 Gin.

The difference is in the details.

Our panel of experts – specifically the London bar trade – were adamant that gin for classic cocktails and long drinks needs to be at or above 45% abv (90 proof) in order for the full gin flavours to emerge when mixed.

The critics have voted No.3 the World’s Best Gin (four times)*, and in 2021 our customers voted No.3 the best gin for ‘The Classic G&T’ at the People's Choice Awards.

Getting Technical

 
 

The 6 botanicals are weighed out precisely.

They are added to the still and steeped > 16 hours in Ultra pure grain spirit.

The next day the distillation begins, > 7 hours.

 

The Master Distiller collects the ‘heart’ of the distillate.

We triple-check the gin, to ensure it is nothing short of spectacular.

We bring our gin down to a precise 46% abv (the perfect abv for our unique taste!)
